A bra and a buck can make difference

Hire for Baby are excited to be joining the #BraArmy.

After having 6 family members diagnosed with cancer in one-year Caryn made a promise to her children that she would do everything within her power to ensure they had the best chance of a healthy, cancer free life, regardless of their family genetics.

‘Yes, we need to be aware of our family history, but our environment and how we treat the one body we have in this lifetime is so very important as well. By informing and equipping our children with the right information and tools, as to how they may live a long, happy, healthy, cancer-free life their
chances of doing so increases exponentially. Information gives us the power to make better choices.’ says Caryn.

What started out as a morning tea fundraiser, back in 2010, supporting an organisation that had done so much for her family, Caryn’s ‘World’s Longest Bra Chain’ world record attempt has now become a national initiative raising much needed funding for the education and early detection of cancer within our youth.

Not only will we be raising funds to support the nurses that will educate our children, the world record project will see to the repurposing of unwanted bras to those less fortunate, and the recycling of those no longer wearable, in an effort to reduce landfill issues. And this is just the
beginning of Caryn’s ‘Circular Economy Framework’ initiative.

The world record project is also generating a huge buzz for the incredible small businesses getting behind this amazing cause and is a fun way for Australia’s bra wearing brigade of like-minded women to come together, encouraging each and every one of us to make time for ourselves, to be active, to reconnect with our loved ones and to be proactive in putting ourselves first every once and a while.

Here at Hire for Baby we just love all that the MY LIFE. MY STYLE. world record attempt, of the ‘World’s Longest Bra Chain’, stands for which is why we are excited to announce that Hire for Baby are now official ‘Bra Donation Collection Points’ for your unwanted bras!

To get involved simply raid those drawers and drop them to your local Hire for Baby outlet.  If you can rustle up a few dollars to donate to the McGrath Foundation’s Breast Care Nurses that would be amazing too!

All donations of $2 or more, made via the official MY LIFE. MY STYLE. donation link will receive a tax-deductible receipt.
